Announcement: Bus Line Changes
Federal Hill Main Street is thrilled to announce upcoming changes to the MTA bus routes that run through Light Street in Federal Hill. Starting on February 2nd, 2025, there will be four extra bus trips each day: two in the morning and two in the afternoon, which will drop off and pick up students on Covington Street.
These changes would not have been possible without the incredible work of Delegate Mark Edelson, his staff, and our wonderful partners at Digital Harbor High School (DHHS) -- especially Principal Jackson. Working together, we hope these changes will make the commute to school safer for DHHS students and support the needs of our local businesses. A more detailed look at the route changes is provided below.
Currently, the Maryland Transportation Administration (MTA) runs four LocalLink 71 buses in the morning. These buses go south through downtown on St. Paul and Light Street, allowing students to transfer and get directly to DHHS. Three of these buses leave from St. Paul & North Avenue each morning and go straight to the school.
The CityLink Silver line also has a route similar to the LL 71. In the afternoons, we’ve added extra CL SV trips:
One going north through downtown to St. Paul & North Avenue
One going south to Curtis Bay
Starting February 2nd, with the new Winter schedule, these trips will become part of the regular schedule.
